H.E. Dr. Doreen Ruth Amule is Uganda’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the French Republic and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO. She also serves as Senior Presidential Advisor on Diaspora Affairs. With a multidisciplinary background in veterinary medicine, epidemiology, and diplomacy, she brings a unique blend of scientific expertise and international engagement to her role.
Before her diplomatic appointment, Dr. Amule held senior public health positions, including leading Uganda’s response strategies on epidemics and pandemics, and supporting global health interventions with the World Health Organization in West Africa. She has been a key figure in representing Uganda’s interests abroad, particularly in promoting cultural, educational, and investment partnerships between Uganda and France.
Dr. Amule holds degrees in Veterinary Medicine and Public Health from Makerere University, as well as advanced training in microbiology, immunology, and administrative law. Her work is guided by a strong commitment to national development, scientific advancement, and meaningful diaspora engagement.
