H.E. Ambassador Jan SadekSpeaker
Ambassador Jan Sadek is a career diplomat with over 25 years in the Swedish and European foreign services. He has served in various European and African countries, including Sudan, Ethiopia, Botswana, and Uganda, and has represented both Sweden and the EU in regional bodies such as the African Union, IGAD, and SADC. He previously served as the EU Ambassador to Botswana and led Sweden’s Consular Section following the 2004 tsunami. Ambassador Sadek, a trained medical doctor, also worked with the UN and OSCE during the Bosnian war. He currently heads the EU Delegation in Uganda, where he is committed to deepening EU–Africa relations.
