H.E. Virginie LEROYAMBASSADOR OF FRANCE TO UGANDA

Virginie Leroy is the Ambassador of France to Uganda, appointed in 2025. She previously served in Kampala as Country Director for the French Development Agency (AFD) from 2014 to 2019. With over two decades of experience in development and diplomacy, she has held leadership roles in economic, social, and demographic programs across Africa. Ambassador Leroy holds advanced degrees in economics and public affairs from Sciences Po Paris. In her current role, she focuses on strengthening France–Uganda bilateral ties, promoting sustainable growth, supporting women and youth entrepreneurship, and fostering cultural, educational, and economic cooperation.
