Empowering Future Professionals: Highlights from the Job & Study Fair 2025

The Job & Study Fair 2025, held at the International French School Kampala, was an inspiring event that brought together students, graduates, and job seekers with top executives from leading French and Ugandan Companies. As a partner alongside the French Embassy in Uganda and Alliance Française Kampala, the French Chamber of Commerce (FCCU) was delighted to support this initiative aimed at fostering career development and professional networking.
The day began with an opening speech by Eric Touzé, Director of Alliance Française Kampala, who welcomed attendees and encouraged students to seize the opportunity to connect with companies and explore potential career paths. Happiness Daher, General Manager of FCCU, then invited His Excellency Xavier Sticker, the French Ambassador to Uganda, to address the gathering. Ambassador Sticker commended the commitment of French companies in Uganda for actively engaging in the job fair since its inception and encouraged students to network, learn, and grow professionally.
Bertrand Hertzog, the newly elected president of the French Chamber of Commerce Uganda, also addressed the attendees present. He highlighted the importance of such events in bridging the gap between young talent and the professional world, emphasizing the FCCU’s commitment to fostering opportunities for career growth and collaboration between Uganda and France.
Participants benefited from a range of insightful sessions, including:
- CV Workshop – A dedicated space where students received expert guidance to refine their resumes.
- Mock Interview Sessions – Practical training on how to present themselves professionally during interviews.
- Mentorship Opportunities – Industry leaders provided valuable career advice, with Robert Busuulwa, Managing Partner at Forvis Mazars, leading an engaging discussion on navigating the professional world and giving rich career advice to young professionals.
The fair was a resounding success, marked by meaningful discussions, career-buildingopportunities, and professional connections that will shape the future of many young professionals.
