Beaujolais Nouveau 2025: A Celebration of French Culture and Friendship in Kampala

KAMPALA, 27 November 2025 — The French Chamber of Commerce Uganda (FCCU), together with the Embassy of France in Uganda, hosted the vibrant Beaujolais Nouveau 2025 celebration at Kingdom Kampala. The event brought together hundreds of guests, creating a festive evening of French culture, gastronomy, and entertainment.
The day began with final preparations at the venue, as sponsors set up and performers rehearsed ahead of the celebration. By early evening, guests began arriving at Kingdom Kampala, setting the tone for a lively and memorable night.
The evening commenced with remarks from the FCCU President, Bertrand Hertzog, who was accompanied by our wonderful team of board of directors taking the stage. Our headline sponsors, Total Energies and Canal Box Uganda, delivered inspiring speeches that set the tone for the celebration. H.E. Virginie Leroy, Ambassador of France to Uganda, officially opened the event and welcomed guests to the 2025 edition of Beaujolais Nouveau, highlighting the enduring friendship between France and Uganda.
Guests were then treated to a carefully curated experience, beginning with a wine service accompanied by performances from a live saxophonist and other artists. Adding excitement to the evening, Canal Box Uganda presented a spectacular fireworks display, creating a memorable visual experience for attendees. The night continued with a DJ set that kept guests dancing and mingling well into the evening.
A highlight of the evening was the presence of Chef Grégory Giraudon, a celebrated French cheesemonger and veteran of previous Beaujolais celebrations. Chef Giraudon oversaw the preparation of an exquisite cheese and cold cuts display, sharing his expertise and elevating the gastronomic experience for all attendees.
